Just wanted to list what helped understanding CVS: CVS-RCS-HOWTO Document for Linux (Source Code Control System) at The Linux Documentation Project MarkD’s Guide to CVS, unfortunately the chapter ‘Using CVS’ isn’t done yet the cvs info and man pages, the info pages actually have a quite good explanation of CVS
